Job summary

Hidden Jobs is seeking a Senior Manager of Engineering to lead the AI Search team responsible for embedding models and indexing pipelines behind semantic search across the platform. The role partners with Product, Architecture, and Data Science leaders to deliver enterprise-grade search capabilities used by legal professionals.

You will oversee strategy, people leadership, and delivery across multiple verticals while ensuring robust engineering practices and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Experience leading managers or senior ICs in search, AI, or platform teams.
• Hands-on ML lifecycle management experience with embedding or NLP models.
• Experience building or operating large-scale data pipelines (indexing, transformation, ETL).
• Familiarity with modern engineering practices (CI/CD, microservices, scalable architectures).
• Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills across cross-functional teams.
• Ability to translate complex technical detail for leadership audiences.

Responsibilities

• Set and execute the long-term engineering strategy for AI Search, focusing on embedding quality, indexing reliability, and semantic relevance across verticals.
• Translate customer and product needs into scalable, production-ready search capabilities with product, architecture, and vertical leads.
• Maintain a roadmap balancing platform investment with cross-team commitments.
• Oversee delivery across multiple teams to keep releases on time and high quality.
• Manage, mentor, and grow engineers and staff, including hiring and performance management.
• Foster collaboration and continuous improvement while balancing innovation with operational rigor.
