# Senior Manager, AccountingHouston, TX 77092-8891## OverviewPosition TypeFull Time## Description**Position Description**The Senior Manager of Accounting is a critical leadership role at Lyte Fiber, responsible for driving financial operations across a fast-scaling organization. This individual will own the monthly close process, lead debt and covenant reporting, support budgeting and forecasting, and deliver high-impact analytics to senior leadership. Beyond the core accounting function, this leader is expected to champion the use of agentic AI tools and workflow automation to continuously improve process efficiency and accuracy. As Lyte grows rapidly across new markets, this role demands a dynamic leader who can build and develop high-performing teams, adapt quickly to organizational change, and support strategic initiatives including M&A accounting and integration.**Duties and Responsibilities****Monthly Close & Accounting Operations**Lead and manage the end-to-end monthly financial close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and GAAP compliance across all entities.Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activity; continuously assess close workflows for automation opportunities.Leverage agentic AI tools and accounting automation platforms to streamline reconciliations, variance detection, and close task management, reducing manual effort and accelerating reporting timelines.**Budgeting, Forecasting & Analytics**Support the annual budgeting process and rolling forecast cycles in partnership with department heads and Operations.Develop and maintain dynamic financial models that incorporate real-time data feeds and automated variance analysis to support agile, data-driven decision-making.Design and deliver financial dashboards, KPI packages, and executive-level reports that provide clear insight into business performance.Deploy automation and self-service analytics tools to enable faster, more consistent reporting across the organization.Provide ad hoc financial analysis and scenario modeling in support of operational and strategic priorities.**M&A & Integration**Support M&A activity including financial due diligence, opening balance sheet preparation, purchase price accounting (ASC 805), and post-close integration.Identify opportunities to standardize and automate acquired-entity accounting workflows during integration to accelerate operational alignment.**Controls & Compliance**Establish and enforce internal controls, accounting policies, and process documentation in line with GAAP and company standards.Coordinate with external auditors to support annual audits and ensure audit-ready financial records year-round.Own all debt reporting preparation including covenant compliance calculations, lender reporting packages, interest schedules, and borrowing base certificates.**Team Leadership & Development**Build, develop, and retain a high-performing, adaptable finance and accounting team capable of scaling alongside the business.Foster a culture of continuous improvement, intellectual curiosity, and comfort with change; coach team members to embrace new tools and evolving workflows.Define clear roles, accountability structures, and career development paths as the team grows in size and complexity.**Other Duties:**Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities required of the employee for this job. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time, with or without notice.## Qualifications**Minimum Qualifications**Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA strongly preferred.7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience; experience in telecom, infrastructure, or high-growth, PE-backed environments strongly preferred.Strong technical accounting knowledge including ASC 805 (Business Combinations), ASC 470 (Debt), ASC 842 (Leases), and GAAP revenue recognition.Demonstrated experience identifying and implementing automation or agentic AI solutions within accounting and finance workflows (e.g., automated reconciliations, AI-assisted close management, workflow orchestration tools).Proven ability to build, lead, and develop teams in a high-growth, fast-changing environment; experience scaling a finance function is a strong plus.Experience supporting M&A transactions, including due diligence, purchase price accounting, and post-close integration.Proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite, or similar) and advanced Excel/financial modeling skills; familiarity with BI or analytics platforms (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) preferred.Experience with debt covenant compliance and lender reporting requirements.Excellent communication and executive presence; ability to distill complex financial data into clear narratives for non-finance stakeholders.High adaptability and composure in ambiguous, rapidly evolving environments; solutions-oriented with a bias toward action.**Physical Demands and Work Environment**This role is primarily performed in an office environment with extended periods of sitting, working at a computer, and using standard office equipment.Occasionally may require extended hours during close periods, audit cycles, or M&A activity.Minimal travel may be required for lender meetings, due diligence activities, or company events.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this role.**About Lyte Fiber**Established in 2023 and headquartered in Houston, TX, Lyte Fiber, LLC (“Lyte”) is dedicated to bringing the fastest, most reliable home and business fiber optic internet to Texas and beyond.
