Job description

Madrigal is a biopharmaceutical company focused on delivering novel therapeutics for metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), a serious liver disease that can progress to cirrhosis, liver failure, need for liver transplantation and premature mortality. Every member of our Madrigal team is connected by our shared purpose: leading the fight against MASH. Madrigal’s medication, Rezdiffra (resmetirom), is a once-daily, oral, liver-directed THR-β agonist designed to target key underlying causes of MASH. We are building a dynamic, inclusive, and high-performing culture that values scientific excellence, operational rigor, and collaboration.

The successful candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities, exceptional organizational skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. This individual will also be responsible for developing and mentoring members of the accounting team while supporting special projects, and other strategic initiatives.

  • Oversee and support the execution and documentation of SOX controls and assist in enhancing internal controls and procedures to ensure compliance with SOX requirements and Company policies.
  • Support internal and external audit activities, including preparation and review of requested schedules, documentation, and supporting materials.
  • Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Treasury, Legal, Tax, HR, and other departments to ensure transactions are appropriately accounted for and financial information is complete and accurate.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen controls, increase efficiency, and enhance the scalability of the financial close process.
