Job Description

The Sr Account Manager is responsible for driving the sales of Formerra Distribution. Duties include forecasting and achieving annual objectives for sales, margins, and volume growth. This position focuses on securing business from prospective and current accounts to meet sales objectives. Previous industry sales experience is a plus; additional sales & technical training is provided. The role involves working autonomously on a day-to-day basis, managing time effectively, and maintaining control over all current projects and responsibilities. The position requires 75% outside the office visiting customers within the regional geographic territory.

Duties / Responsibilities :

  • Achieve profitable revenue growth, including new business development.
  • Meet gross margin targets as a percentage of sales.
  • Utilize customer-centric selling skills and tools such as scorecards, business reviews, CRM management, and prospecting to effectively approach the sales process.
  • Establish, track, and close new business opportunities aligned with long-term growth objectives.
  • Implement marketing programs and provide feedback on resource needs and emerging opportunities.
  • Develop account plans and network within customer organizations and Formerra.
  • Create and manage sales plans, budgets, and expense budgets.
  • Engage in prospecting and cold calling.
  • Contribute to long- and short-term business planning, including sales forecasts and volume goals.
  • Exercise discretion in selling activities, including product selection and pricing strategies.
  • Work directly and cooperatively with channel partners to close sales based on customer requirements.
  • Maintain current accounts and develop new ones by assessing customer needs and competitive pressures.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and promotional events as required.
  • Maintain CRM data and sales statistics.
  • Develop selling strategies, obtain orders, and analyze customer requirements to recommend appropriate Formerra products.
  • Keep the Sales Manager informed through regular reports and communications.
  • Act as a business consultant to customers’ key management, understanding their business strategies and operational issues, and advising on product solutions and pricing.
  • Collaborate with Technical and Customer Service teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Deliver planned sales results.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Plastics or Polymer Engineering, Business, Chemistry, or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of sales experience in distribution, manufacturing, or account management.
  • Strong complex thinking skills to translate customer needs into solutions.
  • Technical aptitude and professional presence, including excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Broad knowledge of solutions, materials, and processing.
  • Self-motivated team player with strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word & Excel; SAP experience preferred.

  • Remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periods and frequent communication.
