Who You’ll Work With

Bain employees are investigative, creative, thoughtful managers and collaborators who work together as an integrated team, delivering extraordinary outcomes for our clients. As a Senior Manager at Bain, you will oversee the formulation and implementation of strategic recommendations to improve the performance of Bain’s clients by providing thought leadership and daily oversight to your case team as well as collaborating closely with our clients. Your analytical, interpersonal, creative thinking, process management, business acumen and leadership skills will be called upon from day one. Senior Managers assume responsibility for value creation and delivery of key client recommendations, provide leadership, coaching and supervision to case team members, and build and strengthen client relationships.

What You’ll Do
  • As a Senior Manager, you’ll quickly join and lead case teams serving our clients and gain exposure to a spectrum of assignments that are complex in scale and scope, intellectually demanding, and highly deadline driven. You will be in the thick of action as you work side‑by‑side with some of the best in the business. And you will partner with our clients to action and impact. Every day is different, but a sample of responsibilities you can expect to accomplish include:
  • Be intimately involved in each client’s organization and industry, working on complex business problems.
  • Identify value creation opportunities in each client situation.
  • Drive analysis, design, and implementation of solutions, develop tailor‑made solutions and work closely with clients.
  • Provide intellectual and thought leadership to the team to ensure the highest quality of analytical and conceptual output.
  • Gather and analyse information, formulate and test hypotheses, and develop recommendations for presentation to client management and work with clients to implement change to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Build and maintain consensus with clients on case goals, critical issues, workplan, implications, recommendations, and implementation plan. Develop and secure client commitment to recommendations and implementation plans.
  • Cultivate talented groups of people and collaborate with multiple teams. You will manage and mentor teams.
  • Effectively manage the formal and informal professional development of case team members by supporting appropriate skills development plans, providing coaching and regular performance feedback.
  • Organize the work of the team by allocating clear responsibilities among case‑team members while balancing the delivery of case‑team goals with the professional development and satisfaction of individual case team members.
  • Contribute to the key firm building initiatives (Practice/Capability area knowledge building and IP generation, Training, Recruiting, Mentorship, office initiatives, etc).

Your integration will also be supported by a dedicated mentor, a senior member of the leadership team and local practice leadership, as well as a colleague friend.
  • A comprehensive onboarding plan with a focus on building out your Bain capabilities for long‑term success. This can include playing a variety of roles on teams for short periods of time sometimes starting with a Consultant role or shadowing a current Senior Manager, if needed, to quickly learn the Bain craft and progress to the full skill set of a Bain Senior Manager.
