Accenture is seeking an experienced Malware Reverse Engineer to join Accenture Security in San Francisco. You will reverse engineer complex malware across Windows and Linux, uncover behavior, and translate findings into actionable detections for incident response and threat intelligence.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of malware reverse engineering or closely related cyber analysis roles.
  • Minimum 8 years of static and dynamic malware analysis on Windows and Linux.
  • Minimum 6 years using IDA Pro, Ghidra and at least 3 years with debugging/binary tools.
  • Minimum 5 years analyzing packed/obfuscated malware and bypassing anti-analysis techniques.
  • Minimum 4 years working with low-level code (assembly) and 5 years building tooling in C/C++/Python for malware analysis.
  • Minimum 4 years extracting C2 protocols and infrastructure artifacts for campaign mapping.
  • Minimum 4 years tracking malware behaviors and TTPs of advanced threat actors.
  • Minimum 4 years developing detection content (YARA, Snort, Sigma).
  • Minimum 3 years reproduc[ing] or validating disclosed vulnerabilities.
  • Minimum 3 years serving as a technical quality reviewer.

Responsibilities

  • Reverse engineer complex malware across Windows and Linux to uncover behavior and infrastructure.
  • Translate reverse engineering findings into high‑fidelity detection logic for SOC use cases.
  • Support incident response during critical events and provide technical quality control of analyses.
  • Mentor senior analysts and raise engineering depth of the team.
  • Deliver concise risk‑based communications to leadership when needed.
  • Assist in distinguishing rapid response from deeper forensic analysis.
