Job summary

Georgia Department of Banking and Finance is seeking a MALPB Examination Specialist II to supervise chartered MALPB entities and oversee regulatory/compliance matters in merchant acquiring and card network transactions.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree plus five years of payments industry audit or regulatory oversight, with strong knowledge of merchant acquiring risk and card network rules. Hybrid work is available and duties include leadership of examination programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and five years in direct payments industry audit or regulatory oversight.
• Background in merchant acquiring and card network relationships.
• Strong understanding of merchant acquiring risk management frameworks and industry practices.
• Knowledge of payments industry regulations and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead supervision of Georgia state-chartered MALPB(s) as central point of contact.
• Serve as Department liaison to MALPB staff, regulators, consultants, vendors, and industry reps.
• Provide oversight and guidance in solving supervisory concerns; act as SME for merchant acquiring.
• Review compliance with laws, rules, regulations, and industry standards; maintain monitoring program.
• Conduct internal training and participate in training programs.
