Job summary

The Georgia Department of Banking and Finance is seeking a MALPB Examination Specialist II to supervise MALPB entities chartered by the Department. The role requires deep knowledge of merchant acquiring, card network relationships and risk management, with oversight of regulatory compliance across chartered institutions.

This is a hybrid role with opportunities to lead examination teams and coordinate with regulators and industry partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and five years of direct payments industry audit or regulatory oversight experience.
• Background in merchant acquiring and card network relationships.
• Strong understanding of merchants acquiring risk management frameworks and regulatory compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Leads supervision of MALPB entities and serves as primary point of contact for MALPB staff and regulators.
• Provides supervisory oversight and guidance on regulatory/compliance obligations for merchant acquiring and card networks.
• Develops and implements examination programs, assigns ratings, and directs regulatory outcomes.
