The MD Anderson Cancer Center seeks a Senior Maintenance Technician for routine maintenance and repairs of mechanical systems. The role involves limited supervision to perform inspections and troubleshooting. Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma, at least five years of experience in technical trades, and preferred certifications in HVAC or Electrical.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 1:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Work Location: Northwest Houston Location
SUMMARY
The primary purpose of the Senior Maintenance Technician position is to provide demonstrated sub journeyman-level work in a designated craft. Performs routine maintenance and repairs of all mechanical equipment, systems, buildings and grounds, and their associated responsibilities with minimum technical supervision.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Under limited supervision performs inspections, troubleshooting, and routine and preventative maintenance on various equipment, buildings, and utility systems using one or more craft trade skills. Maintains records of materials, jobs, and other pertinent information. May investigate outages. Coordinates and prioritizes the workflow of other technicians. Functions as a point of contact for vendors. Prepares and submits reports. Participates in process improvement initiatives. May direct and instruct staff as necessary.
REQUIREMENTS
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Education: Technical School
Preferred Certification: HVAC or Electrical Licensure or Second grade stationary engineer license as issued by the City of Houston.
Experience: Five years experience in one or more crafts (i.e. - plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, HVAC, instrumentation).
Preferred Experience: Experience working with water treatment systems or other trade crafts such as Electrical or HVAC.
