Senior Maintenance Technician III Electric

AdventHealth East Orlando, a 265-bed community hospital, has been serving East Orlando residents since 1941 as an innovative local leader that fills a vital need in a fast-growing area.

A recent 200,000 square-foot expansion project upgraded the hospital to 265 beds, with a spacious patient tower and 80 new private rooms designed to enhance the holistic care experience.

Annual number of emergency cases: 89,018.

Shift: Full Time 7:00AM - 3:30PM Monday thru Friday - Emergency Hours as Required.

GENERAL SUMMARY: Performs the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems for the organization. Coordinates and performs testing of electrical systems as required by codes. Assists other trades as needed and general maintenance related to the facility.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Coordinates and performs electrical equipment maintenance, installations and modifications per all applicable codes and regulations.
  2. Assists in operation and general maintenance of painting, plumbing, HVAC, locksmith, and alarm systems. Oversees essential repairs and other duties as carried out.
  3. Troubleshoots, tests, and repairs mechanical machinery, equipment, systems, and physical structures as scheduled or needed under limited guidance.
  4. Monitors work performed by outside contractors to ensure requirements are met and results are documented properly.
  5. Responds to in-house Work Orders and PM's on daily basis, and in a timely manner.
  6. May be required to respond to emergency calls.
  7. May be required to take call in accordance with facility in a timely manner.
  8. Provides on the job skills training.
  9. Supports and contributes to the development of new processes, products, or services.
  10. Maintains complete and accurate records of all maintenance and repairs. Maintains record ensuring compliance with TJC, Federal, State and Local regulations and standards. Responsible for keeping current on maintenance logs.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE STRONGLY PREFERRED:

  1. Ability to perform electrical equipment maintenance, installations and modifications per all applicable codes and regulations.
  2. Ability to assist in contributing to system training manuals and upgrades as changes occur.
  3. Able to communicate in English.
  4. Must have the ability to document records neatly and accurately.
  5. Ability to generate requisitions for materials and supplies.
  6. Ability to assign priority and teams in a timely manner.
  7. Ability to instruct others as per blueprints and work from sketches.
  8. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or scheduled form.
  9. Ability to read, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  10. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  11. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volumes.
  12. Knowledge of safe handling tools and equipment.
  13. Basic Microsoft Office computer skills.
  14. High School Education or GED.
  15. Two years of maintenance experience.
  16. Journeyman License.
  17. Valid Driver's License.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

High School Grad or Equiv and 2 years experience.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

  1. Masters degree.
  2. Five years of healthcare maintenance.
  3. Trade School certification/diploma.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

  1. Driver's License.
  2. Journeyman.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

  1. Journeyman License (if State Applicable).
  2. Valid Driver's License.
