Job summary

The Lead Maintenance Technician at Volunteers of America Colorado is responsible for a range of maintenance tasks across properties, ensuring safety, compliance, and timely repairs.

You will supervise maintenance staff, coordinate vendor work, monitor REAC readiness, and perform preventive maintenance. The role requires hands-on trade skills and reliable availability for after-hours coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1-year experiences in building maintenance or equivalent.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and relate well to people with diverse backgrounds.
• Valid Colorado Driver License, insurance verification and good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assigns and assists in the supervision of the daily work of maintenance and janitorial staff.
• Assists the Community Administrator in monitoring vendor contracts and procurement for projects.
• Coordinates vendors, orders supplies, schedules reads and ensures work is completed per standards.
• Conducts pre-inspections for REAC readiness and safety inspections.
• Trains and supervises maintenance staff and temporaries in line with policies.
• Performs maintenance and repairs across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, heating, HVAC.
• Maintains logs and ensures preventive maintenance is documented.
