Buffalo Tungsten, part of the Sandvik group, is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair production equipment in a manufacturing setting in New York. The role requires strong troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and collaboration with engineering to implement improvements.

The position includes off-shift coverage, a 7PM-7AM schedule, and a pay rate of $36-$42 per hour with a $1 differential. Comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

Shift: 7PM-7AM, Sun-Tues, every other Sat Pay: $36-$42/hour based on experience. Shift Differential $1.00/hour

Key Performance Areas

• Senior Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining a wide range of production and plant equipment.
• Including advanced electrical, mechanical and automated systems.
• This role requires strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to perform technical repairs.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and complete repair work orders for production equipment.
• Conduct building maintenance tasks.
• The scope of work spans from routine tasks to specialized work involving mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, ventilation, electrical and robotic systems as part of a Maintenance team in a manufacturing environment.

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues to restore equipment functionality.
• Inspect and test machinery to identify potential problems and implement solutions before failures occur.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals to perform accurate repairs.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to support equipment upgrades and process improvements.
• Document all maintenance activities, including repairs, parts used, and time spent, in CMMS for accurate tracking.
• Assist in installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, particularly during off-shift hours when support resources may be limited.
• Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to identify, troubleshoot and resolve equipment and maintenance issues without requiring continuous direction.
• Strong judgment and decision-making skills, including the ability to prioritize maintenance needs, take appropriate action, and recognize when additional support or escalation is required.
• Ability to perform basic welding repairs and light metal fabrication activities to support maintenance operations is a plus.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager or Team Leader.

Education/Experience

• Minimum of High School Diploma or Equivalent Technical certification or associates degree preferred.
• Previous experience in manufacturing maintenance or other related fields is beneficial.
