Job summary

Tulsa Housing Authority (THA) is seeking a Sr. Maintenance Tech to maintain, service and repair THA facilities and equipment, including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and appliances to uphold high standards in a fast-paced environment.

You will lead and direct the work of lesser skilled staff under the Maintenance Supervisor, contributing to THA's mission of safe, decent housing and community impact.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with 1–3 years related experience or equivalent combination.
• Must possess valid Oklahoma driver’s license.
• Ability to work overtime on weekdays and weekends and respond to emergency calls.
• Past experience as a maintenance technician required; supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, service and repair THA facilities and equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance on structures: carpentry, electrical, plumbing, appliance maintenance, heating and cooling.
• Lead and direct the work of lesser skilled mechanics, assistants, and laborers under supervision.
• Work on building renovations including roofing, painting, expansion, redecoration, and floor repair.

Summary

Maintain, service and repair Tulsa Housing Authority (THA) owned or operated facilities and equipment that does not require a license issued by the State of Oklahoma or the City of Tulsa license. Perform routine maintenance work on structures; carpentry, electrical, plumbing, appliance maintenance, heating, and air conditioning to insure a high standard of maintenance of the public housing complex in a fast-paced work environment. Perform a variety of building and facility maintenance and renovation projects including roofing, painting, expansion, redecoration, and floor repair, or anything else which is necessary to make ready units or complete work orders. Perform as a working leader and direct the work of lesser skilled mechanics, assistants, and laborers under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor.

Requirements (Not An All Inclusive List)

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one (1) to three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Who We Are

THA provides publicly assisted housing comprised of traditional public housing, mixed-finance sites, and housing vouchers. Currently, THA provides assistance to more than 20,000 individuals, or 7,200 families. THA is governed by a voluntary Board of Commissioners, each of whom is appointed by the Mayor of the City of Tulsa. The board employs THA’s President/CEO, who in turn employs the remainder of THA’s staff of approximately 200 team members.
