Job summary

JLL in Silver Spring, MD is seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to support facilities operations at a federal government facility. You will perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems, diagnose issues, and ensure safety and compliance.

You must have 5–10 years of experience in commercial building operations and maintenance, with hands-on skills in multiple trades. This on-site role requires adherence to SOPs, safety standards, and the ability to work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of experience in commercial building Operations & Maintenance.
• Hands-on experience in mechanical, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance inspections on building systems including motors, fans, pumps, plumbing, HVAC components, and basic electrical systems.
• Diagnose maintenance issues and complete repairs safely and efficiently in accordance with SOPs and safety standards.
• Repair, replace, and adjust building fixtures such as doors, hardware, lighting, ceiling and floor tiles, and restroom components.
• Maintain and service custodial and maintenance equipment, including lubrication, belt replacement, and minor mechanical repairs.
• Respond to maintenance requests, emergencies, and after-hours call-backs as needed.
• Prepare inspection reports, complete work orders, and document maintenance activities.
• Maintain cleanliness of mechanical spaces and work areas, and assist with inventory tracking and supply ordering.
