Job summary

Charlestown by Erickson Senior Living is seeking a Senior Maintenance Mechanic to efficiently troubleshoot and repair apartments and public areas. You will train staff, oversee the condition of your neighborhood, and serve as a technical resource to keep residents safe and comfortable.

Must have 5+ years in residential or commercial maintenance, knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and appliances, EPA refrigerant certification, and willingness to work overtime including on-call shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in residential or commercial maintenance.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and appliances.
• EPA certification to handle refrigerants required.

Responsibilities

• Perform HVAC maintenance and repairs as assigned.
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance per manufacturer guidelines.
• Respond to emergency system and equipment calls.
• Lead mechanic in assigned area and monitor neighborhood condition.

You will train staff on maintenance techniques, oversee the condition of your assigned neighborhood, and serve as a technical resource for the team, ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for our residents.

• Compensation: commensurate with experience, range $29.00- $35.00.

How you will make an impact

• Perform necessary maintenance of HVAC equipment as assigned
• Perform all necessary scheduled preventive maintenance procedures on designated equipment while following manufacturer’s recommendation
• Respond to emergency calls for system and equipment failure
• Serve as the lead mechanic in assigned area(s) and will be responsible for the overall condition of the neighborhood(s)

What you will need

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a residential apartment complex, construction, or commercial building maintenance
• Must possess a working knowledge of residential building maintenance to include, but not limited to, plumbing, electrical, flooring, and appliances. Should have a working knowledge of HVAC
• Will be expected to work a reasonable amount of scheduled and “on-call” overtime as necessary
• Be able to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
• Must possess current EPA certification to handle refrigerants.
