Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Senior Maintenance Manager to transform site maintenance operations and develop the next generation of leaders. You will supervise Maintenance Managers, drive strategic maintenance programs, and balance preventative work with rapid response to emergencies for an 80+ person team.

In this role you will manage budgets, capital plans, and safety programs while partnering with operations to maximize uptime and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology, or 2+ years of Amazon RME FT experience.
• 8+ years of direct leadership/supervisory experience.
• 6+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
• 6+ years of leading multiple-layer organizations.
• 6+ years of senior leadership development and talent management experience.
• 6+ years of managing department spend, labor budgets, RCA, and CI experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead Maintenance Managers and Area Maintenance Managers to drive talent development and performance excellence.
• Develop and maintain preventative maintenance programs and manage site budgets and capex.
• Ensure safety protocols and partner with site leadership on maintenance execution and safe work practices.
• Manage vendor relationships, coordinate contractors, and provide ROI-led equipment decisions.
• Travel domestically up to 15% to support network initiatives across sites.

About The Role

As a Senior Maintenance Manager, you will transform workplace environments by leading site-based maintenance operations and developing the next generation of maintenance leaders. In this critical role, you'll oversee Maintenance Managers and their teams, develop strategic maintenance programs, and drive operational excellence across your site. You will blend strategic planning, financial management, and leadership development while navigating between managing preventative maintenance programs, coordinating with operations teams, and responding to emergencies that require quick, decisive action. You'll balance proactive planning with real-time problem resolution while fostering a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement across your entire organization of 80+ team members.

Key Job Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

• You will provide leadership and mentorship to Maintenance Managers and Area Maintenance Managers, fostering professional growth, performance excellence, and developing bar-raising talent across your maintenance organization
• You will develop and maintain comprehensive preventative maintenance programs, manage site budgets and capital spending plans, and drive continuous improvement initiatives while maximizing equipment uptime and operational efficiency
• You will ensure rigorous adherence to safety protocols and procedures across all operational areas while partnering with site leadership to implement, audit, and enforce maintenance execution and safe work practices
• You will manage vendor relationships, coordinate external contractors, provide technical leadership on equipment end-of-life decisions using ROI analysis, and leverage Amazon's network size to maximize economies of scale
• You will travel domestically up to 15% of the time to support network-level initiatives and provide guidance across multiple sites

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Reliability Engineering, or 2+ years of Amazon RME (BB/3P) Full Time Exempt experience
• Work flexible schedules/shifts/areas, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
• 8+ years of direct leadership/supervisory experience
• 6+ years of industrial maintenance experience
• 6+ years of leading multiple layer organizations experience
• 6+ years of senior leadership development and talent management experience
• 6+ years of managing department spend and labor budgets, performing root cause analysis (RCA), and implementing continuous improvement (CI) experience
• 6+ years of managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree, or Six Sigma Black Belt certification
• Experience leading network level/multi-site maintenance organizations
• Professional Engineering registration
• Experience working with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) integrators
• Experience maintaining material handling equipment and integrated systems
• Experience in project management
• Experience with statistical analysis

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
