Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations across the site and develop the next generation of leaders. You will oversee Area Maintenance Managers, manage preventative programs and budgets, and drive continuous improvement while prioritizing safety and reliability of robotics and MHE.

You will balance strategic planning with real-time problem resolution, collaborate with operations teams, and mentor teams across multiple functions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Reliability Engineering, or 2+ years of Amazon RME experience.
  • 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • 4+ years of direct leadership/supervisory experience.
  • 4+ years of managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership.
  • 4+ years of CMMS experience.
  • 4+ years of managing department spend and labor budgets, RCA, CI experience.

About The Role

As a Maintenance Manager, you will transform workplace environments by leading maintenance operations across your site and developing the next generation of maintenance leaders. In this critical role, you'll oversee Area Maintenance Managers and their teams, develop strategic maintenance programs, and drive operational excellence across multiple functional areas. You will blend strategic planning, financial management, and leadership development while navigating between managing preventative maintenance programs, coordinating with operations teams, and responding to emergencies that require quick, decisive action. You'll balance proactive planning with real-time problem resolution while fostering a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Key job responsibilities
  • You will provide leadership and mentorship to Area Maintenance Managers and their teams of service technicians and automation engineers, fostering professional growth and performance
  • You will develop and maintain comprehensive preventative maintenance programs, manage department budgets, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the site
  • You will ensure rigorous adherence to safety protocols and procedures across all operational sites while partnering with site Safety leadership to implement and audit safety programs
  • You will manage capital spending plans, facilitate cross-functional project planning, perform cost analysis, and coordinate external contractors while maintaining high-quality service standards
  • You will travel domestically up to 15% to support network-level initiatives and provide guidance across multiple sites
About The Team

This position operates on a flexible night shift schedule between 04:00 PM to 04:00 AM based on site needs to support our 24/7 operations and ensure seamless service delivery to our customers and partners across all time zones.

The night shift schedule is a fundamental requirement of this role. We recognize that night shift work requires dedication and commitment, and we are looking for candidates who are prepared to embrace this schedule long-term.

Successful candidates must be able to reliably work these hours and understand that shift flexibility is not available for this position.

Basic Qualifications
  • Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Reliability Engineering, or 2+ years of Amazon RME (BB/3P) Full Time Exempt experience
  • 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience
  • 4+ years of direct leadership/supervisory experience
  • 4+ years of managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership experience
  • 4+ years of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) experience
  • 4+ years of managing department spend and labor budgets, performing root cause analysis (RCA), and implementing continuous improvement (CI) experience, or Bachelor's degree
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree, or Six Sigma Black Belt certification
  • Experience leading network level/multi-site maintenance organizations
  • Professional Engineer License
  • Experience working with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) integrators
  • Experience maintaining material handling equipment and integrated systems
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience with statistical analysis

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
