Job summary

The Maintenance Manager will oversee heavy mobile equipment maintenance, lead maintenance teams, and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure safe, efficient operation in the burns harbor facility.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of maintenance experience with heavy equipment, plus 2+ years of supervisory work in a union shop.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in maintenance of heavy mobile equipment.
• 2+ years supervisory experience in a union shop preferred.
• Technical certification or associate degree preferred.
• Proficiency with CMMS or maintenance software.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, diesel engines, electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage maintenance activities for heavy mobile equipment fleet.
• Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and operational issues.
• Ensure timely repairs to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate major repairs, rebuilds, and vendor service work.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and equipment history.
• Supervise unionized technicians and schedule staffing.
• Train team in equipment operation, troubleshooting and safety.
• Work with operations to align maintenance with production needs.
• Manage parts inventory and supplier relations.
• Track maintenance KPIs such as downtime and PM compliance.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA safety policies.
