Job summary

DuPont is seeking a Senior Maintenance First Line Supervisor at the Yerkes Site in Buffalo, NY. The role focuses on improving workforce productivity by coordinating daily maintenance opportunities, parts, labor, and equipment access to minimize downtime while prioritizing safety and quality.

The successful candidate will oversee process mechanics, interface with production and external vendors, and drive preventative maintenance programs in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of supervisory experience in maintenance / skilled trades.
• Minimum of an Associate’s degree in the Engineering field or documented evidence of trades experience (journeyman).
• Excellent knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Proven ability to develop and implement preventative maintenance programs.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in SAP software.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and demands.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach team members by implementing programs in technical training, safety, quality, communications, performance recognition, and internal employee development.
• Supervises the daily shift activities for maintenance systems and facilities maintenance to ensure minimal production downtime related to maintenance systems, work orders, and planned maintenance.
• Prioritizes maintenance system and facility repair needs to minimize production downtime, while assuring safety and quality.
• Implement established plant safety programs to ensure compliance and a safe working environment.
• Respond to maintenance emergency conditions with the accurate mixture of skilled technicians in order to minimize downtime, planning major repairs and installations.
• Establish critical system priority lists, ensure all materials used for work orders are tracked, and balance multiple projects simultaneously to completion.
