Arvato is seeking a hands-on and self-motivated Facilities Maintenance Manager to lead the proactive and preventative facility maintenance across our facility in Shepherdsville, Kentucky. In this role, you will leverage your knowledge and experience in facilities management and work cross-functionally to maximize equipment and facility resources while meeting safety and budget requirements.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, guide, and assign projects to supervisors, project engineers, and technicians related to machinery and equipment maintenance and development.
- Oversee all vendors on the property, negotiate to reduce costs, and manage facility repairs and upkeep.
- Delegate projects to improve efficiency and equipment reliability.
- Maintain equipment PM records and lead efforts to reduce downtime.
- Assist or lead research and development of new products, processes, or CAPEX projects.
- Develop and modify equipment to meet production, quality, or layout requirements.
- Manage vendors including housekeeping, recycling, and general maintenance.
- Assist in selecting and fitting out new buildings per Arvato specifications.
- Ensure conveyor systems are safe, efficient, and operational 24/7.
- Understand mechanical and electrical systems and components.
- Perform preventative maintenance proactively.
- Maintain cleanliness of conveyor parts and areas.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair conveyor systems.
- Minimize operational downtime through efficient issue resolution.
- Keep tool and spare parts inventory at 100%.
- Adapt work hours as needed for maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Be on-call for emergencies onsite or via phone.
- Plan and coordinate installations and refurbishments.
- Manage equipment and supply upkeep to meet production and safety standards.
- Inspect buildings for repairs or renovations.
- Review utility consumption and strive to reduce costs.
- Review contracts and service agreements.
- Supervise facilities staff and external contractors.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years in a Facilities Manager role or similar.
- BS degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Experience supervising staff.
- Ability to stand for long periods and work in non-climate-controlled environments.
- Willingness to work long hours, including overtime.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
