The Senior Maintenance Engineer is responsible for improving equipment reliability, optimizing maintenance processes, and supporting operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives. This role develops and implements maintenance strategies aligned with world-class manufacturing practices and lean principles to minimize equipment downtime, eliminate waste, and increase overall operational efficiency. The position also provides technical leadership across maintenance functions while promoting employee engagement, data-driven decision-making, and sustainable process improvements.

This position primarily supports first-shift operations; however, occasional support outside normal business hours is required to meet production and maintenance needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive the implementation and continuous improvement of professional maintenance practices throughout the organization.
  • Develop and standardize maintenance processes, procedures, and best practices to improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • Analyze equipment performance using current and historical data to identify trends, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Create, review, maintain, and update technical drawings, documentation, and equipment records.
  • Evaluate machine components and recommend lifecycle management strategies, repairs, or replacement plans.
  • Develop and support condition-based and predictive maintenance programs to improve asset performance.
  • Create, validate, and maintain standardized maintenance procedures and work instructions.
  • Lead initiatives that extend equipment life, improve machine reliability, and reduce maintenance-related losses.
  • Coordinate with production, engineering, maintenance, and other cross-functional teams to ensure effective implementation of maintenance methods, systems, and tools.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects that enhance safety, productivity, quality, and operational performance across the facility.
  • Promote lean manufacturing principles and foster a culture focused on operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of engineering or maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or supporting engineering projects involving mechanical, electrical, controls, or industrial systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience with root cause analysis and data interpretation.
  • Knowledge of preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance methodologies.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or world-class manufacturing methodologies.
  • Ability to influence change and drive process improvements across cross-functional teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative, customer-focused approach.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and committed to building positive working relationships while delivering measurable business results.

Salary Range: $70,000-$80,000

The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
