Job summary

FIS is seeking a Senior z/OS Systems Programmer – Network Systems to support multiple z/OS environments, LPARs, and parallel sysplex configurations. The role includes counseling users, debugging connectivity issues, and maintaining essential mainframe network services.

You will work with VTAM, TCP/IP, NetView, and print solutions, providing expert problem resolution and documentation while coordinating with many internal teams. On-call duties and weekend windows are required.

Qualifications

• Be able to communicate effectively to a wide range of audiences in a group presentation setting.
• Have at least 7 years programming experience in a technical environment.
• Be proficient in configuration, maintenance, and diagnostics in z/OS Communication Server SNA and TCP/IP services.
• Be knowledgeable with OEM print products and session management tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24x7x365 on-call support on a rotating basis.
• Configure and support connectivity within the mainframe and external networks.
• Analyze traces, dumps, and logs for problem resolution in z/OS connectivity issues.
• Maintain and customize network products such as VTAM, TCP/IP, NetView, and CA TPX.
• Collaborate with multiple teams to resolve complex production issues and communicate findings to stakeholders.
