Role Summary:

The z/VSE Mainframe Systems Programmer will provide support for on-going project that require the installation, testing, and implementation of new z/VSE operating systems and other ‘system’ software. They are self-starters and provide mentoring for day-to-day activities while maintaining on-going projects that may include installation, maintenance, testing, debugging, procedural documentation for their areas of expertise. Research and evaluation of new software and hardware products, assisting team members and other areas with technical questions and problem resolution. Monitoring and tuning of systems software.

They require in-depth knowledge of z/VSE components such as POWER with knowledge on setup/configuration. Detailed knowledge of support products such as FAQS, Condor, CA DYNAM, Velocity z/VPS, VTAM, TCP/IP, PRSM, EPIC DASD and TAPE management, VTS, security, monitoring systems, experience of running z/VSE in both LPAR and under z/VM, etc. Experience installing IDMS and CICS is also desired.

What You Will Do *:*

  • Provide thought leadership within the Global Technical Systems Business Unit

  • Provides Technical support for hardware and software solutions

  • Possess communication skills to participate in client/team/Business unit meetings as well as providing documentation for client operational meetings

  • Enhance the performance of others through mentoring and guiding

  • Keep abreast of changes in the standards, technologies or methodologies

  • Update weekly SW dashboards/scorecards

  • Provide risk assessment and risk management

  • Review assignments for accuracy and quality where applicable

  • Facilitate and coordinate of software releases/upgrades or large projects

  • Collaborate with other departments, teams, and clients

  • Adhere to completion of personnel, departmental, and company goals

  • Upgrade/maintain multiple z/VSE operating systems across diverse environments

  • Upgrade/maintain additional third-party products

  • z/VSE tuning for capacity and throughput

  • On-call 24 x 7 rotation for z/VSE support

What You Will Need:

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this role is $80,000 to $148,000 annually based on a full-time schedule. Please note that placement in the range may vary based on numerous factors including but not limited to skills, experience, internal equity, and business needs. In addition to base salary, other compensation programs, depending on eligibility, include an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, and an equity grant under our Associate Equity Appreciation Program.
