Job summary

The Home Depot is seeking a Senior Staff Systems Mainframe Engineer to lead a team responsible for the reliability, performance, and security of the enterprise mainframe environment, including z/OS and ISV products.

You will design, install, tune, and maintain z/OS systems, drive automation and infrastructure as code, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with product and project teams to enable scalable, secure infrastructure and rapid deployments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years supporting production enterprise z/OS mainframe infrastructure.
• Core z/OS systems programming: base control program, JES2/JES3, JCL, IPL, JES2 commands, and batch management.
• SMP/E for installation and maintenance.
• z/Architecture hardware experience across z13/z14/z15/z16.

Responsibilities

• Lead configuration, debugging, and support for IT solutions and rollouts.
• Lead stand up of system software, hardware, and equipment to meet infrastructure needs.
• Develop test suites to enable rapid deployment of infrastructure as code to production.
• Support and enable product teams with infrastructure, monitoring, and performance tuning.
