Job summary

Capgemini seeks a Principal Solution Architect to drive legacy modernization and cloud migration strategies for complex mainframe and iSeries environments. You will shape target architectures, roadmaps, and cloud-native designs while guiding cross-functional teams through migration, testing, and deployment to deliver scalable, secure solutions.

The role requires extensive experience in cloud ecosystems (Azure, AWS, GCP), strong presales capabilities, and a track record of large-scale

Qualifications

• 16+ years of IT experience with 10+ years leading cloud projects
• 5+ years building cloud solutions on Azure, AWS, GCP
• 15+ years in application development and modernization
• Proven track record delivering large-scale legacy modernization
• Deep understanding of multiple cloud platforms and related frameworks
• Proficiency in modern programming languages and cloud-native design patterns
• Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, MicroFocus, Raincode, mLogica)

Responsibilities

• Lead assessment and strategy for mainframe modernization and cloud migration
• Define target architecture and technology roadmap for modernization
• Architect migration of cloud-native architectures for legacy apps
• Select modernization techniques (re-platforming, refactoring, replacement)
• Create detailed technical blueprints for migration projects
• Lead cross-functional teams through design, development, testing, and deployment
• Monitor progress, manage risks, and adjust modernization plan
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align business and technical needs
• Provide technical leadership and ensure quality standards
• Define strategy for operating model and new service definitions
