Job summary

Fidelity Investments is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to join the CVT team within Stock Plan Services (SPS).

The selected candidate will provide critical systems and business support on a global team using a Mainframe & Distributed technology stack, with an end goal of high availability and client satisfaction. The role emphasizes collaboration with technology and support organizations worldwide, debugging complex issues, and maintaining performance and capacity planning.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Software engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience with mainframe platforms.
• Demonstrated support on a critical mainframe environment, using COBOL, DB2, CICS, JCL, MQ-Series, SQL, and VSAM files.
• Experience in mainframe performance tuning and capacity planning, including reducing I/Os, CPU Time, MSUs, and MIPs, using Strobe, iStrobe, and Platinum Detector
• Experience in Oracle database environment for triage purposes
• File format and comparison using File-AID; version management using Endeavor; debugging and unit testing using Intertest and Abend-AID; and job scheduling using Control-M
• Ability to debug and reproduce issues in lower pre-production environments
• Knowledge of ETL, Informatica, Java, Python, or other distributed languages is preferred.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Experience with monitoring systems such as CloudWatch, Datadog/Splunk, ELK stack
• Knowledge of financial services or equity compensation would be a plus.
• Ability to learn new concepts and technologies to support day to day operations.
• Demonstrate ability to form trusted working relationships with business unit stakeholders through collaboration and effective communications
• Analytical & detail oriented with methodical problem solving
• Ability to articulate complex problems or solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
