Our client is seeking a Senior Mainframe Developer to join their team. As a Senior Mainframe Developer, you will be part of the technology organization supporting mission‑critical health applications. The ideal candidate will have strong Mainframe development expertise, deep Health Insurance domain knowledge (not group health insurance), and the ability to deliver both development and production support in an Agile environment.

What's the Job?
- Design, develop, and support health applications using Mainframe technologies including PL/I, IMSDB, DB2, and JCL.
- Provide both development and production support, including debugging and issue resolution in a live environment.
- Work hands‑on with SAS, REXX, JCL, and Sort to implement and maintain data processing and application logic.
- Debug using IDB/IDZ and support reliable deployments by pushing code using Git.
- Coordinate activity between Product owners and Business Units to drive open action items to closure.
What's Needed?
- Very strong experience with PL/I, IMSDB, DB2, JCL, and Sort (10+ years).
- Well experienced Health Insurance applications development & support with specific knowledge of Health Insurance (not group health insurance).
- Experience working with COBOL, SAS, REXX, and VSAM.
- Agile experience, including collaboration and delivery in iterative development cycles.
- Knowledge of Web services, REST API, JSON, and Message Queues (MQ); experience with Control‑M scheduling and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
