Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a Mainframe Automation Engineer with extensive experience in mainframe automation technologies in Minnesota. The role involves supporting multiple systems in a highly robust mainframe environment and requires collaboration across infrastructure teams.

The candidate will maintain OPS/MVS rules, resolve automation issues, and participate in z/OS upgrades and DR testing. Expect on-call rotation and opportunities to learn Python, Groovy/Java, and Jenkins pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• At least 7 years of experience within a total IT environment.
• At least 7 years of design, development and support of technology infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain OPS/MVS REXX rules, SSM tables, and programs.
• Resolve automation issues and collaborate with other teams on automation needs.
• Provide support during z/OS upgrades and participate in DR recovery/testing.
• Work with vendors for system support and problem resolution.
• Provide 24x7 on-call support as part of a team rotation.
• Learn new automation technologies such as Python, Groovy/Java, and Jenkins Pipelines.
