You will analyze, enhance, and modernize legacy code, optimize batch processing, and mentor junior developers while collaborating with business analysts and QA teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands‑on experience in Mainframe development.
• Strong proficiency in COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2.
• Experience with VSAM file structures and IMS DB/DC (preferred).
• Solid understanding of batch processing, job scheduling tools (CA-7, Control-M, or similar).
• Experience with debugging tools (Xpediter, File-Aid, Abend-Aid, or similar).
• Strong SQL skills for DB2 database querying and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with version control tools (Endevor, ChangeMan, or similar).
• Experience working in Agile/Waterfall enterprise environments.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail in legacy code.
• Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration with business and QA teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, and CICS
• Analyze and enhance existing legacy systems, ensuring minimal disruption to production
• Write and optimize DB2/VSAM database queries and manage data structures
• Develop and maintain batch processing jobs, troubleshoot job failures, and optimize job scheduling
• Support online transaction processing systems via CICS and IMS DB/DC
• Perform impact analysis, code reviews, and unit/system testing for new enhancements
• Collaborate with business analysts to translate functional requirements into technical specifications
• Participate in production support, incident resolution, and on‑call rotation as needed
