Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. seeks a Machinist III to set up and operate a range of manual and CNC machines, performing complex machining on gas turbine components in Greenville, SC. You will interpret drawings, maintain tolerances, and support safety and quality priorities.

You must have at least 2 years of machining experience and the ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Eligible for a shift premium on 2nd or 3rd shift.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of machining experience in a machine shop environment, or equivalent advanced machining training plus relevant hands-on experience.
• Experience setting up and operating manual, conventional, and CNC machines to machine complex metal components.
• Experience with milling, turning, grinding, boring, and/or EDM.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and specs to maintain tolerances.
• Troubleshooting machining, tooling, setup, and quality issues with independence.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and wear PPE.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced machine set up and operate manual, conventional, and CNC machine tools for complex machining operations.
• Interpret blueprints, CNC code, and specifications to produce parts to tolerances.
• Apply temperature compensation for large components to maintain accuracy.
• Select tooling and measuring devices to support safe, accurate machining.
• Inspect parts with micrometers, calipers, and CMMs.
• Contribute to team problem solving and continuous improvement.
