Madison Wood in Madison, VA is seeking an experienced Machinist / Fabricator to perform manual machining, welding, fabrication, and mechanical repair. You will work with our current machinist to expand knowledge of equipment, processes, and specific needs.

This is not an entry-level role; prior machining, fabrication, welding, or mechanical experience is required. The position is full-time, requiring attention to detail, safety, and the ability to read basic blueprints and measurements.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in machining, fabrication, welding, industrial maintenance, or a closely related field is required.
• Experience operating manual lathes, mills, or similar machine shop equipment is strongly preferred.
• Welding and fabrication experience is required.
• Ability to accurately use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision measurement equipment.

Responsabilités

• Operate manual lathes, mills, and other machine shop equipment.
• Perform machining operations requiring accurate measurements, tolerances, and attention to detail.
• Read and interpret basic blueprints, drawings, measurements, and specifications.
• Perform welding and metal fabrication using various processes and equipment.
• Fabricate, modify, and repair components used in plant equipment and operations.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine appropriate methods for repair or fabrication.
• Assist with the repair, modification, and maintenance of stationary and mobile equipment as needed.
• Use precision measuring tools and other shop equipment safely and accurately.
