Job summary

Regal Rexnord Aerospace seeks a skilled machinist to set up and operate CNC lathes and mills in a work-cell, following process sheets and blueprints to produce precision components.

The role requires 5+ years of related experience, strong blueprint reading, and the ability to train less experienced machinists; this is a fully onsite position based at our Twinsburg, Ohio facility.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of related experience in CNC machining.
  • Proficient reading of blueprints and work instructions.
  • Ability to set up and operate CNC machines with live tooling.
  • Knowledge of machining principles and tolerance analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Follow process sheets, blueprints, setup sheets, and instructions.
  • Machine and install jaws as required.
  • Set up turning machines with live tooling and y-axis.
  • Insert and secure tooling in machine turrets.
  • Use hand tools and manual machines as needed.
  • Modify or create CNC programs when needed.
  • Download and upload programs and adjust as required.
  • Operate CNC controls to produce parts within tight tolerances.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and adjustments.
  • Adjust offset coordinates for material and tooling conditions.
  • Train less experienced machinists.
  • Verify gauges and calibrations; maintain quality records.
  • Enter data into ERP system.
  • Support RBS activities.

Brief Description

Perform duties toset upandoperatea number ofdifferent computerized numerical controlled machine tools to perform a wide range of turning, drilling, milling,tappingoperations onprecision machined componentsina work-cell environment.Follow quality and safety rules and keepworkarea in a clean and orderly condition.

Key Accountabilities
  • Work fromprocess sheets, blueprints,setupsheets,setupcards, machine status boards, and verbal as well as written instructions.
  • Machine and installor re-cutchuck jaws asrequired.
  • Experience in running and setting up turning machines with live tooling and y-axis.
  • Insert and secure tooling in machine turrets.
  • Use hand toolsand manual machinesasneeded.
  • Modifyor createexistingCNC programs for machinesas needed.
  • Downloadand uploadprogramsintomachineand make programming adjustments as needed.
  • Operatedifferent typesof computerized numerical controls to manufacture a finished machined product by performing a wide range of machining operationswithintight tolerances.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and makeappropriate adjustments.
  • Make adjustments to offset coordinates to compensate for materials, tooling or machine center conditions.
  • Will berequiredto train less experienced machinists.
  • Set upand verify preset gauges for proper calibration asrequired.
  • Work withsupervisorandsupportteams to resolve problem situations as required.
  • Inspectownwork for correct dimensions and ensure that company quality and quantity standards aremaintainedand complete required documentation.Will berequiredto inspect the work ofothermachinists.
  • May berequiredtooperatemultiple machinesconcurrently.
  • Rotate between various department work centers asrequiredandperform other related duties as assigned.
  • Entersdata intoERPsystem.
  • Supports RBS activities.

  • This position requires the applicant to be a US Person with a US permanent residence. A US Person is a US Citizen or Green card holder.
  • Previousexperience anddemonstratedproficiencyinoperatingCNClathe,CNCmill machineswithadvancedknowledge and experiencewithsettingupmachines.
  • Requires a high school education or equivalentexperience.
  • Minimum of5yearsofrelated experience,andknowledge of machining principles and methods for computer numerical controlled machine toolsrequired.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Advanced skillin reading and interpreting blueprints and work instructions in Englishrequired.
  • External candidates willbe requiredto pass a Machinist test which measures mechanical aptitude.
