Job summary

Ursa Major Technologies is seeking a skilled CNC machinist to join a fast-paced aerospace machining team. You will operate 3- and 5-axis mills, mill-turning, and live tooling, programming with Hypermill to produce prototype and development parts.

This role emphasizes cradle-to-grave machining, tight tolerances, and rapid learning in a high-performance environment. U.S. work eligibility and ability to obtain a security clearance are required.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in a machining environment.
• Experience operating CNC equipment (lathe or mill).
• Demonstrated critical thinker.
• Experience handling parts from programming through completed machined part.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC equipment to machine critical, tight-tolerance aerospace components, including 3 and 5 axis mills, mill-turning machines, and live tooling equipped lathes
• Program using Hypermill CAM software to produce prototype, R&D, and one-off parts
• Take on cradle to grave machining projects to support high pace output of development hardware, reworks, and part modifications
• Assistance with all shop related operations including tool & workholding creation & procurement, equipment cleaning & maintenance, etc.

You will contribute to machining critical hardware and improving the impact that internal machining has on Ursa Major’s knowledge base and engine programs. Ursa Major Technologies seeks to be the best at what we do, and a drive for rapid learning and improvement is expected of the entire team. You will report to the Operations Team.

Required Qualifications:

Desired Experience:

• Experience with multi-axis & mill-turn machines and programming is a plus.


• Experience in an aerospace machining environment


• Experience with modern multi-axis CAM packages is a plus.


• Knowledge of modern high speed machining strategies and tooling.


• Experience with Titanium and high-Nickel aerospace alloys is a plus.

Colorado law requires us to tell you the base compensation range of this role, which is $33.00 - $44.00/hour, determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The salary range for this role is intentionally wide as we are evaluating individuals based on their unique experience and abilities to fit our needs. Classification: Full-time Non-exempt.
