Job summary

MKS Instruments, Inc. is seeking an Automation Engineer specializing in machine vision and automated inspection to advance high-precision manufacturing processes.

You will design and implement vision systems, select cameras and lighting, and develop software for reliable quality data and process improvement in a hybrid Methuen, MA-based role. Strong technical background and 5+ years in industrial vision are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or CS field; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 5+ years designing vision systems in industrial manufacturing.
• Experience with machine vision hardware selection and imaging conditions.

Responsibilities

• Design/write machine vision systems to identify, inspect, and measure high-precision parts.
• Integrate cameras, lenses, lighting, and image acquisition hardware for reliable inspection.
• Develop image processing apps using VisionPro/In-Sight, OpenCV, or custom software.
• Support data collection, visualization, and process monitoring for continuous improvement.
