Overview.ai is seeking an experienced Machine Vision Applications Engineer to own complex vision applications from feasibility through production deployment. You’ll work hands-on in our San Francisco lab and directly with customers on real manufacturing challenges.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in industrial machine vision or optical inspection systems.
• Deep understanding of optics, lenses, lighting, sensors, and cameras.
• Proven ability to lead feasibility studies and proof-of-concept projects.
• Strong technical communication and ability to explain trade-offs to customers and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead feasibility studies, POC testing, and validation for complex industrial inspection applications.
• Select, configure, and optimize cameras, lenses, lighting, filters, and optics for challenging inspection requirements.
• Own the SF lab: drive experimentation, testing standards, hardware evaluation, and application development.
• Troubleshoot image quality, environmental variability, false rejects, and missed defects to improve inspection performance.
• Work with customers and field teams to support deployments on production lines and translate challenges into product improvements.
