This hands-on role offers ownership of the SF lab, unique challenges across automotive and consumer manufacturing, and collaboration with a world-class team to push the boundaries of AI-powered machine vision on real production lines.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience selecting and configuring lighting, lenses, and cameras for inspection or measurement.
• Experience running imaging trials, feasibility studies, or proof-of-concept testing in a lab or demo environment.
• Ability to document findings clearly and explain technical trade-offs to customers and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Imaging feasibility: Run trials on incoming customer samples to determine imaging viability.
• Lighting and optics selection: Choose and configure lighting, lenses, cameras, filters, and geometry for each application.
• Lab ownership: Set up and run the SF lab, test standards, hardware inventory, sample handling, and results recording.
• Proof-of-concept testing: Build and document POCs to support Sales and Applications.
• Image quality troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve image quality problems causing false rejects or missed defects.
• Hardware evaluation: Test new cameras, lenses, and lighting and recommend stack items.
• Findings and documentation: Write up what worked and why for future engineers.
