Job summary

Action Staffing Group is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Machine Safety for a manufacturer in Irvington, NJ. The role serves as site owner for the Machine Safety Program and leads machine safety, risk assessments, and lifecycle management to ensure compliance with OSHA, ISO and related standards.

The position requires 8–10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering and safety, with leadership responsibilities for cross-functional teams and capital projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, industrial, mechatronics or related engineering.
• Minimum 8–10 years of manufacturing engineering and safety experience preferred.
• Experience with safety standards and risk reduction projects is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead the site Machine Guarding Program and safety initiatives.
• Conduct machine risk assessments and develop engineered risk reductions.
• Lead safeguarding, remediation, and capital improvement projects across facilities.
• Maintain machine inventories and prioritization for risk assessments and remediation.
• Validate Safety PLCs and SIL/PL calculations and ensure compliance with standards.
• Provide guidance to engineering, operations, and maintenance, and support site lifecycle management.
