Job summary

The role requires reading blueprints, tape measures, and following standard work, with training provided. Candidates should be able to lift up to 75 lbs and maintain a clean, safe work area while complying with PPE requirements.

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow standard work and work instructions.
• Ability to receive on-the-job training.
• Ability to read simple blueprints.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Ability to perform repetitive work while paying attention to detail.
• Must have knowledge and skill to operate all required machines.
• Ability to stoop, kneel, stand, walk, push, pull, crouch or reach within hands- and arms-length on a regular and/or repetitive basis.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. with or without assistance.
• Must not be on predischarge for attendance or have a written performance write up for any reason.

Responsibilities

• Gather materials as needed to maintain production.
• Perform complex, critical set up process, operation and adjustment of equipment to produce product within specifications.
• Perform visual quality checks using tools and gauges as necessary to examine product for defects to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Operate and monitor equipment and replenish materials as needed.
• Accurately and efficiently perform steps necessary to conduct changeovers.
• Remove parts from machine after cycle is complete.
• Utilize computer monitors to operate the equipment.
• Fill out paperwork related to production activity.
• Report problems with quality, processes, equipment and materials to production lead or supervisor.
• Train other operators as needed or requested.
• Wear required PPE (steel-toed boots, safety glasses, ear plugs, and any additional PPE required for task being performed).
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and organized condition.
• Cross train, permitting movement throughout and between departments.
• Perform other duties and operate machinery as assigned by lead/supervisor.
