Job summary

RTX in Carroll, IA is seeking a skilled machine operator to interpret blueprints, work orders, and GD&T, select appropriate tooling, and perform set-ups for metal fabrication. You will assemble, repair, and fabricate parts, take precise material measurements, and conduct inspections to ensure conformance to SPC charts and quality standards.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, machine operator certification, and the ability to obtain FAR 145 certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or related vocational training.
• Machine operator certification.
• Certification on multiple programs with moderate to high complexity.
• Ability to obtain FAR 145 certification if requested.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints, work orders, GD&T for operation and dimensional requirements.
• Assemble, repair and fabricate metal parts into sub-units or complete units.
• Take measurements of material and select appropriate machines for the process.
• Perform machining set-ups and make adjustments as required.
• Conduct inspections of work produced, checking SPC charts for frequency of checks, gauging and measurements.
• Keep records and maintain quality and safety standards.
• Exhibit RTX Leadership Behaviors and Values.
• Support and follow all rules, guidelines and standards set by EHS, Quality and CI functions.
