Job summary

AAM - American Axle & Manufacturing in North Carolina seeks a Senior Machine Operator (Preset) to perform and optimize complex machine operations, ensuring precision and adherence to tight tolerances within a production cell.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate PLC/CNC basics, preventive maintenance, and a track record of training new operators while maintaining safety, quality, and on-time delivery in a challenging automotive manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED.
Read and write English proficiently.
Strong manufacturing skills.

Responsibilities

Set up and changeover equipment in the cell.
Operate equipment and perform changeovers per standard work.
Troubleshoot processes and perform preventive maintenance.
Understand material scheduling and manufacturing concepts including CI.
Follow safety and environmental policies and procedures.
Demonstrate basic math, machine design, drawings, lubrication and hydraulics knowledge.
Train new employees and may assist with advanced PMs.
Lead training and troubleshoot machine operations.
Perform PMs and basic repairs.
Have basic PLC/CNC knowledge and read schematics/drawings.
Design and implement POKA YOKES during machines prove-offs.
