Job summary

International Paper in Atglen, PA is seeking a General Helper transitioning to a Machine Operator. It is a full-time role with 2nd and 3rd shifts (3:00pm-11:00pm; 11:00pm-7:00am) and a probationary pay of $25.01/hr, increasing to $26.14/hr and up to $31.19/hr when qualified.

The role involves safely operating machines, reading work orders, and maintaining quality and housekeeping throughout the shift. Monday-Friday schedule with room for growth.

Qualifications

• 1 year of hands-on Industrial Plant manufacturing experience.
• Corrugated industry experience preferred.
• Sit down Forklift/pull pack experience preferred.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• The ability to accurately read a tape measurer and ruler.
• The ability to use basic shop math.
• The ability to learn; and the ability to follow instructions, ask questions, and work effectively as a member of a team.

Responsibilities

• Safely run machines and follow all safety rules and practices at all times.
• Count and stack finished product.
• Learn customer requirements and specifications by reading factory work orders, print cards, and design specifications.
• Utilize basic shop math.
• Accurately read tape measures, gauges and other test equipment.
• Coordinate activities with other machine crew members to efficiently set up and run orders.
• Maintain quality and production standards as required by the company.
• Continually monitor the quality and quantity of production.
• Maintain housekeeping continually during the assigned shift.
• Perform quality inspections and tests, and record findings; and
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
