Your Impact

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Computer Vision and Machine Learning Scientist to join our AI team. The focus will be on AI applications in Cloud, Devices, and Robotics. You will play a crucial role in advancing Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) and Computer Vision technologies for our products, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy advanced algorithms that enable intelligent perception and understanding of visual data.

What You'll Do

Location: Hybrid in Seattle OR Remote from the US

Reports to: Senior Manager, Research Science

  1. Own key technical areas across the CVML product portfolio.
  2. Provide technical leadership and mentor junior scientists, guiding R&D concepts into impactful product features.
  3. Research and develop techniques in MLLMs, GenAI, and Computer Vision across cloud, devices, and sensors.
  4. Design and implement scalable MLLM models for visual data analysis.
  5. Address challenges in object detection, recognition, tracking, segmentation, and scene understanding.
  6. Optimize algorithms for performance, memory, and energy efficiency, especially for resource-constrained devices.
  7. Collaborate with hardware engineers to leverage accelerators and optimize algorithms for hardware architectures.
  8. Evaluate model performance with real-world datasets and validate effectiveness.
  9. Stay updated with research trends and incorporate findings into projects.
  10. Contribute to patents, publications, and technical documentation.
  11. Coach and mentor junior scientists.
What You Bring

  • PhD with +8 years in Computer Science or related fields focusing on MLLMs, CV, ML, or AI.
  • Proven research excellence through publications in top-tier venues.
  • Proficiency in Python, C/C++, deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras), and experience with ROS.
  • Experience in ML lifecycle phases: data shaping, modeling, training, and deployment.
  • Ability to leverage research to deliver high-quality models at scale.
  • Contributions to the research community via publications, open-source, and challenges.
  • Experience with CV algorithms on resource-constrained devices is highly desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, capable of working independently and collaboratively.
