We are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Manager to lead our Knowledge Graph Team, crucial for enhancing search, chat, and agent functionalities across Atlassian’s products. This role involves leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) to improve knowledge graph construction, semantic search, and contextual AI functionalities, ultimately boosting user experience and productivity.

Responsibilities

1. Lead and Manage the Team: Oversee and mentor a team of machine learning engineers, fostering innovation, collaboration, and professional growth. Responsible for hiring and retaining top talent.
2. Drive Machine Learning Initiatives: Manage the full ML lifecycle—from data collection to deployment and monitoring. Research and implement advanced ML techniques to improve system performance and scalability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align solutions with business goals.
3. Strategic Execution: Define and execute the vision and strategy for the Knowledge Graph Team. Influence ML initiatives across Atlassian’s products, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality solutions.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with AI platform and product teams to integrate ML solutions seamlessly. Communicate technical concepts effectively to internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years managing machine learning engineering teams.
• Proven experience building and scaling ML models with large datasets.
• Knowledge of knowledge graph technologies, search algorithms, or conversational AI is a plus.
• Strong expertise in ML, data science, and system design.
• Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences.

Compensation & Benefits
