Job Title

Senior Machine Learning Engineer - Maps Services Evaluation

Description

As a Machine Learning engineer on the Maps Evaluation team, you will develop AI-based techniques and tools to enhance the quality of Maps ML systems. You will evaluate GenAI-based Map features and collaborate with product managers, engineers, scientists, developers, and statisticians to improve a core product used by millions worldwide.

Minimum Qualifications

1. 5+ years of software development experience in languages such as Java or Python
2. 5+ years of experience designing and evaluating search or recommendation systems
3. 5+ years of hands-on experience training ML models for production
4. Master’s degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related fields
5. Proven ability to collaborate with PMs, developers, and ML engineers/scientists

Preferred Qualifications

1. PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related fields, with publications
2. Experience building and evaluating GenAI-based products or features
3. Proficiency with analytical tools like Jupyter Notebook for data analysis and visualization
