Role Overview

As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and building scalable machine learning systems that power our AI advertising platform. You will collaborate closely with the engineering team to develop and optimize ML models and pipelines, integrating them into a low-latency, high-throughput backend system.

Responsibilities

1. Develop, train, and deploy machine learning models that drive ad recommendations and bidding systems within our AI advertising platform.
2. Build and optimize NLP pipelines to interpret user intent, enabling real-time product recommendations and personalized ads.
3. Design and scale the machine learning infrastructure to support large-scale, AI-driven ad systems, ensuring low latency and high reliability.
4. Explore and implement new ML algorithms and techniques to continuously improve system performance and scalability.
5. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including backend engineers and product managers, to align business objectives with technical solutions.
6. Utilize cloud platforms (GCP, AWS) and distributed computing technologies to manage and scale machine learning models.

Requirements

1. Proven experience in machine learning, with expertise in deep learning architectures and frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow.
2. Strong proficiency in NLP (Natural Language Processing) and large models (LLMs), including experience building and optimizing embedding models.
3. Hands-on experience with Python and related ML libraries.
4. Knowledge of backend systems, including API development, database optimization, and high-concurrency environment management.
5. Experience in ad systems, including familiarity with bidding, auction algorithms, and optimizing ad performance metrics.
6. Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS) and distributed computing technologies is a plus.
7. Strong problem-solving skills, ability to iterate quickly, and eagerness to experiment with innovative solutions.
8. Self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced startup environment.
9. Mandarin or experience working with international teams is a plus but not required.
