Job summary

Baker Tilly US, LLP seeks an experienced M&A Tax professional to lead tax due diligence, structuring and related services for buy-side and sell-side transactions in the U.S. California market.

The role involves managing engagements with c-suite clients, coordinating with private equity firms and banks, supervising staff, and helping grow the practice. A CPA or licensed attorney is required and travel to client locations is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.
• Master’s degree in Taxation or JD with LLM in taxation preferred.
• CPA and/or licensed attorney required.
• Minimum 8 years of related experience.
• Supervisory experience 4+ years.
• Experience leading M&A tax services engagements at a large national firm preferred.
• Strong business development and client relationship skills.
• Willingness to travel to client locations.

Responsibilities

• Engagement management with clients includes routinely working directly with c-suite executives to perform financial due diligence on middle-market companies in a variety of industries
• Work alongside private equity firms, strategic clients and investment banks to perform buy-side and sell-side due diligence and other M&A tax activities
• Responsible for all aspects of deal execution including sourcing and managing client relationships, analysis and execution of client deliverables and coaching and managing other team members
• Coordinate services as needed with other practice areas of the firm
• Build relationships with existing clients, including involvement in networking and business development activities
• Provide both leadership and supervision to Staff, Seniors and Managers
