Job description

Sitting within the Legal team and working closely with the Corporate Development function, the M&A Counsel will play a key role in driving forward the company's ambitious growth plan as they acquire new entities (average 5-6 deals annually) in a variety of global locations.

Your involvement will be at both the pre and post-acquisition stages including negotiating all relevant documentation, running due diligence rooms, filing corporate records, managing external counsel, and advising senior internal stakeholders at all stages of the transaction lifestyle.

The client believes that the successful candidate will require at least 6 years' PQE although applications from all levels will be considered on merit (the more experience, the better). Interest from lawyers qualified in other Commonwealth jurisdictions will be welcomed. This role needs someone for whom corporate/M&A work has been the dominant feature of their career. Ideally you will have experience from a top tier law firm. This successful candidate will possess a proven track record of success on complex, cross-border transactions, as well as a commercially-oriented and flexible mindset.

This position requires someone who is available to start in May. The role is Inside IR35 so unfortunately limited company operators cannot be considered. You must have the right to work in the UK as sponsorship cannot be provided.

Robert Walters Operations Limited is an employment business and employment agency and welcomes applications from all candidates
