Legend Biotech in Somerset, NJ seeks a Senior Engineer / Principal Engineer for Lentivirus Downstream Process Development. You will design and scale purification for LVV, driving models and automation from concept to GMP manufacturing. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential.

The role emphasizes advanced bioprocess modeling, analytics, and process transfer to ensure high vector recovery, purity, and potency in clinical programs.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Chemical/Biomedical/Bioprocess Engineering; PhD preferred.
• 6+ years (PhD) or 8+ years (MS) of biotech process development experience.
• Strong modeling, data analytics, and downstream purification expertise.
• GMP knowledge and familiarity with CMC for clinical products.

Responsibilities

• Design, optimize, and scale LVV downstream purification processes.
• Build mechanistic/hybrid models to influence LVV processing.
• Apply ML for modeling and clustering to generate process insights.
• Lead tech transfer and support GMP manufacturing and clinical runs.
• Develop APC strategies (MPC, state estimators) to optimize performance.
• Collaborate across upstream/analytical teams; author technical docs.
