Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) seeks a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide patient care in an outpatient clinic. You will work under supervision with nurses and physicians, perform exams, take vital signs, and support the medical team in delivering high-quality care.

Responsibilities include collaborating with the care team, using EMR systems for data communication, and educating patients and families.

Qualifications

Education: Completion of a Board of Nursing accredited vocational nursing program.
License/Certification: Current Vocational Nursing license in Texas or a temporary permit to practice vocational nursing pending full licensure.
Experience: At least two years of LVN experience in a hospital, clinic or community-based environment.
Preferred: CPR/BLS certification.
Experience with electronic health records (EHR) documentation.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with patients, families, and the care team to assess changes in patient conditions.
Utilize EMR systems to communicate important patient data for informed decisions.
Design and implement educational plans to empower patients and families.
Assist with exams and procedures, take vital signs, and ensure high-quality patient care.
Maintain inventory and ensure supplies are stocked and ready for use.
