Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Amarillo, TX is hiring Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN) and Senior LVN to provide patient care in an outpatient clinic setting. Roles involve supporting physicians and nursing staff to deliver complete patient evaluations and care within a team-based environment.

New grads and experienced LVNs considered; licensing in Texas required or temporary permit possible for practice.

Qualifications

• Completion of Board of Nursing Accredited program of vocational nursing or nearing completion within 120 days of applying.
• Current Vocational Nursing license in Texas or temporary permit from the Board of Nursing to practice vocational nursing pending full licensure in Texas.
• New grads must pass NCLEX-PN on the first attempt.
• Two years LVN experience for Sr. LVN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reports data and identifies alterations in patient responses to aid in problem identification and goal setting.
• Prepares and operates equipment and instruments for examinations, treatments and procedures.
• Maintains knowledge of current issues and treatment modalities.
• Administers or assists with medication administration and documentation.
• Assists with exams and procedures and documents interventions in EMR.
• Other duties as assigned.
